Committed to the Local CommunityThe Kamitakahara Investment Team believes in community involvement and the importance of giving back. Committed to community, they support CIBC Children's Miracle Day, the United Way, the Alberta Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Inn from the Cold, the Red Cross and the Pet Access League Society of Calgary. Taking action is important to them and that's why different team members can be found actively participating in community events and projects. Some of the team's favourite volunteering opportunities are the Harry G. Schaefer Mentorship Program at Mount Royal University, serving meals at the Calgary Drop-In Centre, church charities and the Home for Dinner program at Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta. CIBC Run for the CureThe Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada's largest research, and education and awareness program. This year we are incredibly proud to mark our 18th anniversary as title sponsor – a milestone that we are proud of. Since 1997, CIBC employees have raised more than $36 million in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. CIBC Miracle Day for ChildrenCIBC Miracle Day is an employee-driven fundraiser that started at a Wood Gundy branch in 1984. Every year, on the first Wednesday in December, CIBC's wholesale banking employees and participating CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisors donate their fees and commissions to help kids in need. Since its inception, CIBC Miracle Day has raised $79.5 million for children's charities across Canada and $223 million globally. The Kamitakahara Investment Team is proud to be one of the firm's largest contributors to CIBC Children's Miracle Day, specifically designating children's charities in Calgary and across Alberta. |
