Expertise that's one to one
Donna Stone has worked in a financial advisory capacity with the CIBC Group of Companies since 1992, assisting her clients in achieving their financial and estate planning goals.
Investment Philosophy and Process
Donna's clients are provided with comprehensive financial advice in a professional and ethical manner with an emphasis on investment management. This is achieved by working in partnership with her clients to develop an investment policy and customize an asset allocation strategy based on an in-depth client interview process.
The investment policy is based on realistic expectations with a long-term perspective and clearly defined objectives. This is the foundation upon which the client portfolios are developed and managed over time and through different market cycles. Recognizing that no two clients are alike, an investment approach or financial strategy is tailored to each individual investor. This investment portfolio takes into account the client's specific goals, financial means and risk tolerance.
Donna has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation as offered by the Financial Planners Standards Council and therefore has agreed to abide by the Code of Ethics of the FPSC.
She holds the Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) designation, which denotes a specialist in advanced life insurance applications and estate planning solutions.
Donna is an active member of ADVOCIS, the Financial Advisors Association of Canada.
She has been involved in several charitable organizations and has served as a Director on volunteer boards in the St. John's community. The last several years have been spent as a Board of Director for the St. John's Adult Health Care Foundation where she has chaired the Special Events Committee and more recently, the Planned Giving Committee.
She is also Past-President of the St. John's Board of Trade. The St. John's Board of Trade is one of the largest Chambers in Atlantic Canada and a leading voice for business in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Board currently represents 800 companies employing 20,000 people, and that number is steadily growing.
